If you’re just getting started on your entrepreneurial journey, congrats! You’re in for a wild yet fun and rewarding ride!

Let me be the first to tell you that learning how to show up consistently and with confidence is the one thing standing between you and the life and business that you dream of. Ok, that’s two but you get the idea.

For most people, jumping right in is something that they hesitate doing because they don’t know what to do first or where to start.

If this is you, then you are in the right place.

I’m going to share with you the most important steps you can take right now to building a profitable and successful brand. This isn’t a post full of fluff, it is value-packed with action steps, tools, and additional resources you can use to take action today to start building your brand and making an impact.

This is the same 6 step blueprint I’ve used with my clients and student for almost two decades and with own brand and business as well.

The goal is to find your voice and use it to authentically connect with your target audience.

You also want to use that voice and have it serve as your message, specifically designed to attract and resonate with your dream clients. AND you want to do it in a way that feels natural and effortless to you – no icky selling or promoting required.

Let’s dig in.

Step 1 – Clarify Your Vision and Voice

The goal is to find your voice and determine your story style.

The first step to skyrocketing your visibility is to create clarity on the style of voice that you want to deliver and determine the audience that you want to deliver that voice to.

When you take the time to do this properly, you will know who will resonate with your stories and message best and will be able to stay focused on what will inspire them to take action on your offers.

NINETY PERCENT OF ENTREPRENEURS WILL SKIP THIS STEP – DON’T LET THAT BE YOU

Doing this step sets the stage for every other step you will take in your journey to gain visibility, magnify your message, and monetize your brand.

It’s kind of a big deal.

Step 2 – Create Your Brand Message

So that you can create unique and authentic core stories

One of the most frequently asked questions I have received over the years relates to creating content messaging that is authentic and allows you to position yourself as an expert.

HAVING A STRATEGY FOR YOUR STORIES IS A KEY SECRET TO CONSISTENCY

You’ll want to create core categories to your stories and define (and continuously refine) your message.

Focus on version ONE, take consistent action to gather feedback on it, and pay attention to the cues for tweaks needed to refine and fine-tune along the way. The more you practice, the better (and easier) it will be.

Step 3 – Captivate Your Target Audience

Do this by making a great first impression with visual and verbal story assets

First impressions can make or break the experience that your client and/or potential clients have with you and your brand.

THE VISUALS THAT YOU USE IN YOUR BRAND BECOME YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION AS THEY ARE THE BODY LANGUAGE OF YOUR BRAND

Contrary to popular belief, having great visuals doesn’t automatically require a big budget or hired designer rather, starting with something as simple as two and two to three core colors you use consistently will keep everything cohesive and attractive to your target audience.

Canva is a great tool that I like to use for creating assets and keeping things visually cohesive. If you use this link you can try out a Pro account free for 30 days. A pro account will allow you to store your chosen brand fonts and colors so that updating templates with your brand is as easy as click-click.

Side Note: Don’t forget about your photos!

They are a big part of your story’s first impression, so you want to either source some great stock photos from sites like Unsplash or Pexels that offer great free stock photos if you’re not great at taking your own.

Other sites like Creative Market or stock photo memberships such as Styled Stock Society or Social Curator all have fabulous options available for purchase. If you go to Creative Market, check out my curated list of stock photos for women entrepreneurs here.

If you do take your own, adding a simple filter to your photos with an app like Lightroom will keep the color and vibe of your photos consistent. You can purchase filters through Creative Market or Etsy for reasonable prices as well.

Step 4 – Build Community Through Engagement

The focus is to make authentic connections while Increasing engagement.

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when building a community online is that they overlook one simple thing… building a community online is the same as connecting in person, the only difference is that it’s not face-to-face.

Online or offline, people just want to connect. Aim to engage and interact but the key is to be authentic.

Be helpful, be open, and be willing to learn by asking and answering questions and just focus on talking to people instead of trying to pitch or invite someone to your opportunity or offers.

The more you engage, the more followers you’ll gain and the faster your tribe and community will grow.

Step 5 – Develop A Consistency Action Plan

Remember, the main goal is to build consistency.

Having a solid game plan to follow will remove the guesswork and relieve the overwhelm from your day-to-day. You can do this by creating a simple daily and weekly game plan to build consistency.

CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY TO BUILDING KNOW-LIKE & TRUST FOR YOUR BRAND

Executing your plan with consistency will leave your audience thinking, “she is everywhere.

Create and follow checklists for your daily, weekly, and monthly activities and be sure to stick with Core Categories within your stories and conversations to allow your consistency and your momentum to build. As a result, your brand, engagement, and audience will grow.

Don’t forget about our friend, engagement. The more you authentically connect, the farther your message will magnify and impact you will create.

Step 6 – Convert Fans and Followers with Ease

The good news is there is no icky selling required!

When you take moment to think about the volume of information that is available to us on a regular basis, it’s mind-blowing. It’s also no wonder that the number one reason that entrepreneurs either freeze from paralysis or call it quits is a direct result of overwhelm.

When you focus on your one thing, the next best thing for you in the moment, not only will you remove the overwhelm for your audience but for yourself as well.

Win-Win.

FOCUS ON YOUR ONE: ONE OFFER, ONE FUNNEL, ONE PROGRAM, AND ONE INVITE

The most important part of your ONE is the invite. Don’t hold back from letting your audience know what your offer is and keep in mind that not everyone is going to see your offer the first time so get comfortable with the ask and do it more than once before giving up.

Keep this in mind – the average offer needs to be seen between 7-10 times before someone takes action. Keep offering.

So, there you go. The six most important steps you can take to start building your brand and making an impact.

I encourage you to start taking action on these steps as soon as you possibly can. Consistency is a habit that you build over time and likewise, building a brand is also a journey, not a destination.

Give it some time. You will grow and things will get easier as you do.
